Pokemon Legends: Arceus has been out for a few months now, and the speedrunning competition has seriously heated up. What may take the average gamer dozens of hours to accomplish, these speed demons can in less than five. Granted, they aren’t seeing much of the game at all that way, but hey. That’s the kind of space we’re in here. While it could change at any moment, let’s look at the current fastest Pokemon Legends: Arceus speedrun.

As of May 12, 2022, a player with the online handle “ShadyGamerX” Is the current “Any%” world record holder. Their fastest Pokemon Legends: Arceus speedrun is a bewildering three hours, 46 minutes and 26 seconds. Absolute madness. Of course, “Any%” means the game doesn’t have to be fully completed for the run, meaning runners are able to exploit glitches to make their way to the credits. This record is a mere three minutes (roughly) shorter than the number two spot, held by “SaiyanCinq.”
Arceus also has a category “Catch ‘em All,” which of course means there’s a speedrun for fully completing the Pokedex. This is a significantly more challenging run, because that’s more game to engage with “properly.” The fastest record in this category is held by “halqery,” with a time of nine hours, 13 minutes and two seconds. Currently, speedrun.com only has four complete Catch ‘em All runs recorded, so there’s plenty of room for turbulence.
