The Santa’s Slayground event brings plenty of gifts in the form of new modes for players to try out, such as the Infectious Holiday. Before you try out some of the Holiday fun, I’ll cover what the mode is and how it works in Multiplayer.

How Does Infectious Holiday Mode Work in MW3?

Infectious Holiday is just a Holiday-themed version of the classic Infection mode from the original Modern Warfare 3. The main difference for this version is the skins that players have on. All of the Survivors have the Paindeer Operator skins with giant Reindeer heads, while the Infected players are all dressed like Zombie Santa.

In any version of the Infection mode, 18 players load into a match on the same team. Each player typically gets a primary weapon, a sidearm, and some Claymores. After about 10 seconds, one random player becomes infected. This player gets a Combat Knife and throwing knives, but for Infected Holiday the throwing knives are Golden Snowballs (These should count toward the Santa’s Slayground snowball challenge).

The goal for the infected player is to kill another Survivor and essentially “infect” them. Each kill increases the amount of time left in the match, and in most cases, the infected side will quickly start to snowball due to infinite respawns. It’s really just one big zombie mode in a Multiplayer setting.

As for the maps, there are two Holiday-themed maps in the pool, but they aren’t the only ones. Infected Holiday can take place on most of the base game maps, so don’t expect decorations in every match. But at least there’s always a Zombie Santa to take down in the MW3 mode.

While you jump into the mode, keep track of all the rewards in the Santa’s Slayground event.
