What is Grey Health in Remnant 2? – Answered

Grey health, red health, what about blue health? Or green?

Remnant 2 is a game with many systems you’ll have to keep track of. Some of these systems are well explained within the game, while others aren’t explained quite as well. Take some of the debuffs like Root Rot for example, which can only be learned once you’ve dealt with the repercussions of being infected a couple of times. One such system that doesn’t get much of an explanation has to do with your health, though can prove to be a nice way to save resources. Here’s what Grey Health is in Remnant 2.

Grey Health is a status that occurs whenever taking damage. You’ll notice that when you’re hit, you don’t just lose all of the health that you take. Instead, some of it is gone while the rest of it is in a grey bar on your health. This is Grey Health, and it will regenerate slowly if you don’t take damage. This can save you in the long run with how many Dragon Hearts you’re consuming, thanks to that extra bit of HP saved. Being hit additional times will not increase the amount of Grey Health you have, so you’ll want to try and recharge this health after only being hit once.

How Can I Improve My Grey Health Stats?

On its own, Grey Health can be a little weak thanks to its decently small amount that it’ll heal back and the speed at which it regenerates. Thankfully, there are ways to improve it. The Dread Font ring, for example, increases Grey Health regeneration rate by two health per second. That is a lost ring slot, but it may be worth it if you want to be careful with your health pool and Dragon Heart count.

Grey Health may not be the most useful mechanic in short bursts, but it can be a huge help across the entirety of the game. If you’re looking for more details about the game in fact, check out our article on whether you can pause the game in Remnant 2.
