Warhammer 40K: Darktide has a lot of different stats you need to keep track of. Some of them are spread across several characters, such as weapon stats like Stopping Power, while others are character specific, such as the Warp Resistance stat on the Psyker’s various Force Staffs. One such stat might be a little confusing for new players, though is much simpler than you think. Here’s what a Warp Attack is in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.
What Does a Warp Attack Do in Darktide?
There are a few places where you might have first noticed it. The most likely of the bunch comes from Psyker’s level five feat Warp Absorption, which reads “Replenish 10% Toughness when you kill an enemy with a Warp attack”. With this in mind, the difference between a Warp Attack and a non-Warp Attack is very important. Without it, you can’t replenish Toughness as easily.
A Warp Attack is an attack that consumes some amount of Peril, which can of course vary. These attacks are the Brain Burst, Force Sword special attack, and Force Staff attacks of all kinds. All of these attacks will consume some amount of your Peril, and thus will count towards the Warp Absorption feat. You should be careful not to spam this though, as max Peril is a lot nastier than an increase of Toughness.

As a bonus for your later adventures as Psyker, there’s also the Force weapon attacks stat for the level 10 feat Psykinetic’s Wrath. Force weapon attacks refer to attacks from the Force Sword (the special attack at least) alongside each of the four Force Staffs. Every time you attack with any of these weapons, you’ll gain the damage buff listed which can be nice though is a little outclassed by the other two options.
