Not as exciting as you might think at first.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide has more than enough kiosks to keep you busy across the Mourningstar. Whether you want to pick up entirely new weapons at the Armoury Exchange, change your appearance at the Chirurgeon, or upgrade your weapons at the Shrine of the Omnissiah (whatever that’s supposed to mean), you have more than enough options. At the Requisitorium, there’s one special feature that some players are a bit confused about. Here’s what a mystery acquisition is in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.

When traveling to Sire Melk’s Requisitorium, you’re given a few options. You can either check out his contracts to see what weekly missions you have left to complete, see his limited-time offerings to find some new strong weapons to take with you, or, for this guide, head into the Mystery Acquisitions section. This section offers three options for an Unknown Melee Weapon, an Unknown Ranged Weapon, and an Unknown Defensive Curio.

The best way to think about this section is as a loot box section. Whichever of the three options you purchase, should you choose to drop some of the hard-earned coins you collected, will reward you with a random item or weapon. This has the potential to be of any rarity, with higher rarity items that are purple or orange being incredibly rare and only showing up once in a blue moon.

If you ask us, we’d suggest avoiding the Mystery Acquisitions section entirely. Sure, there’s a chance you may pull a great weapon you can use with high stats, but the chances of this happening are quite low. You also will only pull weapons that you have currently unlocked, so if you don’t have all of the weapons unlocked yet, you’ll be shooting yourself in the foot. Instead, pick up whatever Limited-Time Acquisitions has that you fancy provided it’s much higher than your current gear.
