Palworld is a rather pleasant game to look at, and it seems to run quite nicely overall, as well. Which graphics engine does Palworld use, so we know how to prepare our PCs in advance?
Which Graphics Engine Does Palworld Use?
While Palia was originally being developed using Unity, it appears that the team at PocketPair made the switch to Unreal Engine 5 to bring us the version of Palworld we know today. This allows the team to further increase the graphical fidelity of the game, as well as continue working on fixes in the future. While it’s unclear if the switch from Unity to Unreal was due to the controversy surrounding Unity in the past, it seems that it may have been something intended from the start. With other popular games such as Fortnite using Unreal Engine 5 to power their games with impressive results, it’s easy to see why PocketPair may have swapped this over.
It seems that the swap to the new engine has been great so far, with pre-release content showcasing the game running well across a variety of PCs, and Twitch Streams showcasing the game running rather smoothly. Even with games like Fortnite, which shares not only a similar graphical style but also the same engine, Unreal Engine 5 can be tweaked to allow the game to run great on nearly any platform. While it’s unclear if Palworld would work well on Nintendo Switch, it seems that settings could be messed around with enough to make that a possibility in the future.
While you’re getting ready for your adventure, make sure to keep your eyes peeled on our Palworld section below to find out more about the game, and see if PVP Combat is a major part of the multiplayer portion of this adorable and slightly terrifying new survival game.
