Each time you unlock a new Eikon’s power, you get four new abilities to experiment with and potentially add to your repertoire. Mastering an Ability in FFXVI

Mastering an ability in Final Fantasy 16 allows you to do a few different things. All abilities that are part of an Eikons toolkit can be equipped on any other Eikons slot on your ability wheel when mastered.

Meaning you can use Phoenix abilities on a Garuda slot and vice-versa. This is great for wanting up to six different abilities from the various Eikons without having to use their Eikon Feat.

Mastering Eikonic Feats (The Circle Button Ability) will enhance the ability. For instance, mastering Phoenix Shift will increase the distance you’re able to dash with it. You can click the triangle button on any ability in the mun to pull up a full list of what mastering will do for it.

Mastering the central wheel of Clive’s abilities will augment them. For instance, mastering the Stomp ability will let you jump on an enemy twice instead of once. Again, you can read all of the different mastering details by hitting triangle on the ability in the menu.
