What Pawn Badges Do in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Gotta collect 'em all.

When examining other Pawns in the Rift, you will notice that many will have earned various Pawn Badges, and on top of this, you can earn Pawn Badges for your Pawn by setting Pawn Quests for them to undertake, but what is the point in doing so?

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawn Badges Explained

The Pawn Badge system is an optional and enjoyable way to improve your Pawn and make them more desirable to others wishing to hire them from beyond the Rift. There are two different types of Pawn Badges – monster badges and field badges. With 18 to earn in total, it’ll be no easy feat, and you’ll want to start on it as soon as possible.

Monster Badges

Your Pawn will obtain a monster badge by defeating a specific number of an enemy. Earning the badge is done both in your world and by setting it as a Pawn Quest for other players to complete. Achieving a monster badge will provide your Pawn with more experience when battling and defeating a specific monster, and they will know the most effective way to take it down and tell the player how to do so.

Field Badges

Your Pawn will obtain field badges by camping a specific number of times in the region that the Pawn Badge is assigned to. You are likely to obtain these badges first, as they are quite easy to obtain if you do a lot of exploration. You can also set this as a specific Pawn Quest for other players to take on. Achieving a field badge will provide your Pawn with additional knowledge about the area, and they will share it with the Arisen, including chests, caves, and shortcuts.

How to Earn Pawn Badges in Dragon’s Dogma 2

The quickest way to earn Pawn Badges in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is by enticing other players to do the work for you. You can do this by

  1. Having a Pawn worth hiring.
  2. Listing a desirable item or sum of gold as the completion reward.

The first thing that you will need to do is make sure that your Pawn is worth hiring in the first place. You can do this by ensuring they are well-equipped, well-leveled, and interesting appearance-wise. Be it that they are handsome, a doppelganger for someone well-known, or so hideous that they become hilarious.

The second way to have as much chance as possible of having your Pawn Quest completed is by making it worth the other player’s time. You can do this by offering worthwhile items in exchange or decent sums of gold.

When your Pawn has completed the task the required number of times, they will earn the Pawn Badge, which will be displayed on their profile for all to see. Now they can command attention in the Rift, just like you can use Pawn Commands to command them as you please.
