The PlayStation 5 early exclusive from 2021 is finally making its way to PC platforms! Lately, this has become a common practice for PlayStation Studios to port some of their big exclusives to PC two years later. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a real next-gen game that brilliantly showcases all the specifics of the PlayStation 5’s unique architecture and features, but what kind of PC hardware will you need to have in order to recreate the same experience when the game becomes available on July 26? Check out the system requirements for Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart PC version below.
Hardware Requirements for PC Version of Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart
In order to play this once-PlayStation 5 exclusive on PC, you will need a relatively recent configuration. Check out the lists below for minimum and recommended specs:
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PC Version Minimum System Requirements
- Memory: 8 GB
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580
- CPU: Intel Core i3-4160, 3.6 GHz or AMD equivalent
- OS: Windows 10
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PC Version Recommended System Requirements
- Memory: 12 GB
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER
- CPU: Intel Core i7-9700K or AMD equivalent
- OS: Windows 11
It is very possible that a fast SSD will be necessary due to the game’s Rift mechanics, which were only achievable on the PlayStation 5’s fast SSD. So it is possible that in the PC version, you will have to install the game on a very fast SSD in order to for it to work – but that still needs to be confirmed.

As for the file size, the PlayStation 5 version of the game took up only about 40GB, but this is due to the innovative compression methods of Sony’s next-gen console, which this Insomniac Games managed to use to the maximum. The question is whether the PC version will be as well optimized or the file size will be much larger.
The PC version brings NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2, and Intel XeSS tech for more resolution/fps optimization. The image-improving NVIDIA DLAA tech and the NVIDIA Reflex are also supported, as well as the mouse and keyboard controls. However, if you connect the DualSense controller via a wired connection to a PC, you can experience the same great haptic feedback as in the PlayStation 5 version. Also, there is support for ultra-wide resolutions – 21:9, 32:9, and up to 48:9 are supported.
For now, everything sounds like this will be a good port, although, after The Last of Us Part I, we won’t get too excited until we get a chance to test it ourselves.
