Considering there are no real explanations or descriptions for what counts as a ranged weapon in Fortnite Chapter 4, this weekly quest can get frustrating. Even with the right weapons in hand, it’s still one of the tougher tasks. To make things easier, we’ll clear up exactly what this challenge means and how you can complete it with ease.

Fortnite Chapter 4 – What are Ranged Weapons?

At first glance, you may be thinking that this means weapons used at long distances like sniper rifles. In other words, weapons that are capable of long shots, or have maximum damage range at a distance. However, the explanation is much simpler. Ranged Weapons in Fortnite are any weapons that shoot projectiles. Whether it’s a long distance or not, it’s considered ranged.

That doesn’t mean you’ll have to walk around with a Shockwave Hammer or a pickaxe though. Players should be able to knock a player down with any weapon that they want. Once they get the knock, they’ll need to quickly drop everything in their inventory that could be considered a Ranged Weapon.

The challenge is to get an Elimination without any Ranged Weapons in your inventory, but it says nothing about the knock itself. Of course, you’ll have to be quick about the inventory so you aren’t taken down in the process. Even if you are, the challenge is complete and you can move on.
