What is the Progression System in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2’s Operation Mode?

If you only played the campaign, you’ll be surprised that there is a whole deep system revolving around the weapons, classes, and perks. You wouldn’t even know there are different classes if you only played the campaign.

When you play Operation missions, you’ll earn experience and mastery points. Beside your name on the upper right corner of the Armoury Hall screen, you’ll see three different icons. These are different types of mastery points tied to different tier versions of a weapon.

For example, If you want to upgrade your Auto Bolt Rifle to the Artificer tier, you need to level up the weapon first to unlock the weapon tiers: Master-Crafted, Artificer, and Relic. Once you reach the tiers, you still have to unlock the versions of the weapon using these mastery points.

Apart from unlocking different versions of the weapon, you can also customize the perk tree of a weapon. Level it up and unlock different perks. The same goes for your class, which also has a level system. You’ll level up and unlock different perks for your class. Overall, it is going to be a deep grinding game with these systems.
