Vampire Survivors New Achievements Guide: February 2022 Part Two

I’m gonna have to come up with a new naming convention for these things. That’s on me for not expecting two updates in a month! Anyway, yet another update has dropped for popular Early Access roguelike Vampire Survivors with some new characters, power ups and achievements. They’re all connected, so I like to present these as an achievements guide.

For this update we have two new characters, a new power up and four achievements. One of these characters is a bipedal panda bear strapped with explosives, so that’s a thing. The biggest new thing that actually feels new is Curse, a power up that… isn’t really a power up. It’s more of a self-imposed challenge tool, which the developer said will likely change form and/or function as players mess around with it. That said, none of these achievements are particularly difficult, and you can knock out the first two in the same run.

Vampire Survivors New Achievements Guide February 19 2022

Yatta Cavallo (Defeat a total of 3000 Lion Heads)

Lion heads are the weird little creatures that look like a medusa head, but more feline and with fan blades instead of snakes. You’ve seen these guys in Vania titles with much more macabre protrusions. Lion Heads are a basic enemy type from the Inlaid Library level, so all you really have to do is survive a run there. You’ll rack up 3000 of the little furballs without even noticing.

For this you unlock Yatta Cavallo, a walking panda bear who comes with a new Cherry Bomb weapon. Functionally, Yatta is the same as Mortaccio, with the weapon being the distinction.

There’s a panda in there somewhere

Lama (Survive 20 minutes with at least 10% Curse)

You can get this and the Lion Head achievements in the same run. Curse is a new power up with five ranks, so you might need to rearrange your purchases if you don’t have the cash. Each rank is a multi-layered stat boost for enemies, making the game much harder on purpose. But for this, all you need is one rank. A run through the Library with one Curse rank on the standard difficulty is hardly noticeable.

Completing this challenge rewards you with Lama, another new character who starts with the axe weapon. Lama is quite strong, but gains a Curse rank every ten levels. If you thought Vampire Survivors was too easy, well, here you go.

Reroll 2 (Reach level 100 with Yatta Cavallo)

I pointed out the similarity to Martaccio earlier for a reason. Just like how you unlocked the first rank of Reroll in the last update, you get a second rank for doing the same thing with Yatta. This one felt a little easier, as the Cherry Bomb seemed to power up faster than Bone does. You should be able to reach level 100 handily, with a mixture of XP boosts and DPS. If you’re feeling squirrelly you can add some Curse, since having enemies spawning more maxes the XP pool jump too.

And like I said, getting this achievement gets you a second rank of Reroll, so you’ll be able to use it twice per run going forward. Helpful if you want to try throwing hands with Death!

Skull O’Maniac (Survive 30 minutes with Lama)

Here’s the biggun. For this achievement you need to survive an entire run with Lama, meaning you’ll have to stare Curse right in the face. You very well might have to change up your strategy a bit, but ultimately this is still Vampire Survivors. A planned out, maximally upgraded build will always be great. And you know if the enemies are gonna be several ranks stronger, defensive options won’t amount to much.

Your efforts here will be rewarded with the Skull O’Maniac item, the passive item version of the Curse power up. If you’re still not satisfied with the challenge in Vampire Survivors, you can combine Skull O’Maniac, Lama and Curse for a maximum 130% to enemies’ speed, health, quantity and frequency. I don’t know why you would want this for you or anyone else, but hey. It’s there if you want it.

Thus concludes our second February 2022 achievement guide for Vampire Survivors. With only a few days left in the month, hopefully we can wait until March for the next update. I need some time to figure this format out.
