Elden Ring does not explain much to the player, it’s part of the grand adventure and carving out your own story in The Lands Between. However, some folks might miss out on learning to level from the Maiden entirely (like me) for far too long. Here’s how to unlock the Maiden and level up in Elden ring.
In order to level up in Elden Ring, you’ll need to unlock the Maiden. This can be done fairly early. All you will have to do is exit the starting cave after the small tutorial section. Once you’re in The Lands Between follow the first Guiding Grace trail coming off the Site of Grace in front of you.
It will take you to the Church right past the Golden Knight on horseback and there will be another Site of Grace alongside a merchant NPC. Simply rest at the site once you’ve found three Sites of Grace and you’ll be treated to a cutscene where the Maiden will ask for your help. Choose to help here and she will give you the ability to spend Runes to increase your level.
How you level up is up to you, and you can easily grind the enemies in the surrounding area to gain any additional runes you might need if you’re short.
