The Ranger Challenge was introduced during the Blood Moon event in Phasmophobia. It gives the players the monumental challenge of successfully surviving and identifying ghosts several times on the campsite maps. Since you have to finish them multiple times, you want some speed and a high success rate to save some hours of grinding the same maps repeatedly. Here’s the easiest way to finish the Ranger Challenge in Phasmophobia.
How to Finish the Ranger Challenge in Phasmophobia
The Ranger Challenge requires the following tasks:
- Successfully identify the ghost on maps Maple Lodge Campsite or Camp Woodwind and survive.
- Repeat this 50 times.
Reward: Ranger ID Card and Badge
Both the Maple Lodge Campsite and the Camp Woodwind are very small maps, but Camp Woodwind would be the smallest one to finish. However, even if these maps were small, it is still hard to find the ghost because of how open the area is. Looking for ultraviolet evidence alone will be a tough task since the ghost can’t touch any door to leave any prints.
On the bright side, you can easily find the ghost by just roaming around for a minute and interacting with the ghost. You can ask, “Can you give us a sign?” or even call the ghost by its name to grab its attention. The faster you can get the ghost to interact, the easier it’ll be to garner evidence. You just want to be careful since there aren’t a lot of hiding spots here, especially in Camp Woodwind.

The Best Way to Finish the Ranger Challenge in Phasmophobia
Since you need to successfully choose the correct ghost 50 times and survive, this will take weeks or even months to finish, depending on how frequently you play. The same goes for the Sunny Meadows challenge since you also need to do the same objective on a different map, which was introduced at the same time as the Ranger challenge.
General Strategy
To save some time, you must find a good strategy for successfully finishing matches. Notice how there isn’t any difficulty requirement for the challenge. You can easily do this on intermediate, but you would want to get the ghost more active, so you can also go for professional. The difficulty really depends on your Phasmophobia experience here.
As for the map, Camp Woodwind will be better than Maple Lodge Campsite since it is much smaller, making it easier to find specific pieces of evidence like spirit boxes, ghost orbs, and ghost writing.
Your goal is to find the ghost as fast as possible in Camp Woodwind. You will always start with a spirit box and try to anger the ghost to determine its location.
Once you can pinpoint its location, you can start bringing a notebook and a DOTS projector and quickly spot the area for some ghost orbs with a camera.
You want to rely on these tools to get these pieces of evidence:
- DOTS Projector
- ghost writing
- ghost orbs
- spirit box
You can also leave an EMF reader on the floor near the ghost room, preferably on a spot where you can read the EMF reader without holding it.
The other tools for getting ultraviolet and freezing temperatures should be the last since they are quite inconsistent in this map. Freezing breaths may bait you into thinking it is freezing temperatures, and ultraviolet prints are hard to find if there aren’t that many doors and light switches that ghosts can touch since this is a very open map. These are as inconsistent as the EMF Reader, so you want to focus on the first four pieces of evidence mentioned and either confirm or rule them out.
You want to be quick about it since death will be lurking at every corner because of the open area. There are so many ghost types that are extremely strong in open areas. To make your runs safer, you can add Crucifixes and try to place them in the ghost room as fast as possible. You can easily finish the challenge with just the basic set of equipment. However, Crucifixes and Sanity Restoration Pills will help you survive longer.
