One of 2022’s most anticipated games, The Callisto Protocol, the sci-fi horror debut from Striking Distance Studios, led by Dead Space co-creator Glen Schofield, is set for launch on December 2 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game’s website describes the new horror experience as follows; “Set on Jupiter’s moon Callisto in the year 2320, The Callisto Protocol is a next-generation take on survival horror. The game challenges players to escape the maximum security Black Iron Prison and uncover its terrifying secrets.”

The most intriguing feature of The Callisto Protocol is the fact that it reportedly takes place in the PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) universe. Whether it will adopt any of the mechanics from its popular battle royale counterpart remains to be seen, but the new survival horror title is now officially available for pre-order. This guide will tell you each available version of the game, its price, and where to pre-order The Callisto Protocol for each gaming medium.

Day One Edition

The Callisto Protocol “Day One Edition” is available for pre-order in both digital and physical forms according to the game’s website. In addition to receiving the game at launch, the “Day One Edition” will arrive December 2 with the “Retro Prisoner Character Skin” and “2 Retro Prisoner Weapon Skins.” It is available for digital pre-order on Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, while physical editions for both current PlayStation and Xbox consoles can be ordered via Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart. The “Day One Edition” digital and physical versions are priced at $59.99 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, while PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions retail at $69.99.

Digital Deluxe Edition

The Callisto Protocol “Digital Deluxe Edition” is, not surprisingly, only available digitally. This version sweetens the pot by adding a “Season Pass” in addition to the base game, the “Retro Prisoner Character Skin” and “2 Retro Prisoner Weapon Skins.” It is available for pre-order on Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The “Digital Deluxe Edition” is priced at $79.99 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, while PS5 and Xbox Series X/S iterations cost $89.99.

Collector’s Edition

The GameStop exclusive “Callisto Protocol Collector’s Edition” is the ultimate physical version of Striking Distance’s debut title with a price tag to show for it. Along with the base game, the Season Pass, and the “Retro Prisoner Character Skin” and “2 Retro Prisoner Weapon Skins,” the collector’s edition includes a steelbook case, “The Callisto Protocol #0″ comic, two collectible pins, and a gorgeous polysteel statue featuring the game’s protagonist, Jacob Lee, battling one of Callisto’s terrifying creatures. Unfortunately for PC gamers, this version of The Callisto Protoco” only exists on both current PlayStation and Xbox consoles. The PS4 and Xbox One collector’s editions retail at $239.99, while PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players can expect to pay $249.99.
