The Best Settings to Boost FPS in The Finals

The beauty and pain of PC ownership are the attempts to extract as much FPS out of your machine without investing money in upgrades. If you are trying to boost your FPS while still maintaining visual playability in The Finals, check out our article below.

How to Increase FPS in The Finals via Settings

The Finals have quite a few settings you can tinker with to try and increase your FPS, so let’s get the show on the road. Also, make sure that your GPU drivers are up-to-date, because the latest drivers may increase your FPS.

• Window – Fullscreen
• Resolution – Your Monitor’s native resolution. I do not believe in stretched 4:3 resolutions.
• VSync – Disable unless you have screen tearing.
• NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency – Test it on your PC because different PCs have different results.
• Resolution Scaling Method – If you use TAAU, you can leave the Resolution Scale at 100 or drop it to 90 if you can extract a few more FPS from it (but it will come at a cost). Depending on your PC configuration, AMD FSR and DLSS are cool.
• Field of View – I keep it at maximum because The Finals is a fast-paced game, and you need to be aware of your surroundings as much as possible.
• Motion Blur – When will developers STOP adding motion blur to video games? I do not know of anyone using it.
• Lens Distortion – Disabled
• NVIDIA RTX Global Illumination – Static
• Overall Quality Level – Custom because we’ll be toying around with a lot of settings. However, you do not need to touch this. It will automatically turn to “Custom” the moment you change anything.
• View Distance – keep it as low as possible because it will not impact your gameplay.
• Anti-Aliasing – keep it as low as possible.
• Shadows – keep it as low as possible (unnecessary in any shape or form).
• Post-Processing – keep it as low as possible (reduces strain on your hardware).
• Texture – keep it as low as possible unless you have issues seeing clearly what’s going on on your screen (enemies’ movement, etc.). Most people will choose Medium for this exact reason.
• Effects – keep it as low as possible.
• Foliage – keep it as low as possible.
• Global Illumination Resolution – keep it as low as possible.
