There are three pieces of Soldier’s armor you can get in Tears of the Kingdom:

  • Soldier’s Armor
  • Soldier’s Helm
  • Soldier’s Greaves

To obtain each armor piece, you must travel to Hyrule Castle’s royal hidden passage, break through stone obstacles and navigate the underground pathways. A guard normally blocks this passage but will open once you progress far enough into the story to unlock the paraglider.

How to Find the Soldier’s Armor in Tears of the Kingdom

Starting with the Soldier’s armor, you’ll want to head north toward Hyrule castle until you reach the front gates. Open the doors with Ultrahand and go up the path until you find a cave entrance at coordinates (-0324, 0776, 0074).

The first part of a long journey.

Once you approach the passage, lift the wooden gates with Ultrahand and run past them before ascending the stone staircase. When you reach the red carpet halls, turn right and go forward, running past or defeating the enemies along the way before turning right up the stairs again. You’ll find the Observation Room and a metal hatch at coordinates (-0254, 0768, 0097), which you can open with Ultrahand to advance further.

You’ll immediately spot a chest with a diamond inside once you use Ultrahand to open the hatch and dive deeper into the passage. Grab the diamond and glide down the stairs to avoid the enemies before going down the pathway. You’ll see some rocks in the way that you can break with stone weapons or bomb flowers. Following these red rocks, you’ll find Luminous Ore rocks to break through too. By this point, you should be at around coordinates (-0263, 0692, 0007).

Be prepared to drop down into one of many caverns!

After dropping down into the cavern, continue until you see more red rocks to break. Make sure that you veer left rather than digging forward until you see a cave with stone bricks in the ground. Go down the ramp and turn right to find, yes, more red rocks! Break through them to find a room with skeletons inside.

In this room, defeat them and go to the far right room to see a large boulder you can move with Ultrahand. Drop down the hole to find bomb flowers and another passage to follow. Go down here, stand at coordinates (-0270, 0650, -0044) and use Ascend to enter the previously locked jail cell. Jump to the surface and open the chest to find the Soldier’s armor!

How to Find the Soldier’s Helm

Backtrack from the Soldier’s armor location until you’re back in the main jail room. Before leaving, fuse a weapon with the large boulder you moved previously to make another stone-breaking tool. Trust me; you’ll need it.

After making a stone weapon, head out of this room and run until you see blue rocks blocking another path. Break these, walk forward, and destroy the second set of rocks until you reach water at coordinates (-0255, 0508, -0038).

In this water room, you’ll see various stones jutting out of the water and a door blocked by dark rocks. Make your way across here by approaching the land on the room’s right side and swimming or gliding across the water. Break the dark stones and enter the passage, defeating the Ice Like along the way. You’ll find a chest containing the Soldier’s Shield and another chest nearby at coordinates (-0230, 0467, -0039) containing the Soldier’s Helm!

How to Find the Soldier’s Greaves

Starting from the room where you found the Soldier’s Helm, backtrack until you’re in the water room and swim left until you find a small passage with an ore deposit and blue rocks. Rather than breaking these stones, though, continue up the ramp, defeating enemies along the way until you reach the top. Break the blue rocks here and proceed down the narrow path for, well, more blue stones. By the time you destroy this last set, you’ll arrive at coordinates (-0278, 0307, -0006).

Almost there!

After entering this room, turn right to find some red rocks to break. Don’t worry; this is the last batch! Destroy these and enter the room to find a Like Like guarding the final chest. Defeat it to find a chest containing a Traveler’s Shield, followed by the chest at coordinates (-0307, 0280, -0006) with the Soldier’s Greaves.
