Super Mario RPG: How to Play Frog Sage’s Suite 18 for Toadofsky – Song #1 Guide

Toadofsky is such a good name.

As you reach Tadpole Pond in the Super Mario RPG remake on Nintendo Switch, you’ll encounter a weird little guy called Toadofsky, who wants to hear a particular song he can’t remember. Here’s how to play Frog Sage’s Suite 18 at Tadpole Pond in Super Mario RPG.

How to Play Frog Sage’s Suite 18 for Toadofsky at Tadpole Pond in Super Mario RPG

Frog Sage’s Suite 18 is the first song Toadofsky wants to hear in Super Mario RPG, and while playing it for him may seem complicated at first, especially after looking at the music score minigame, it’s pretty simple once you know what to do. From Toadofsky’s location, backtrack into the previous area and walk up to the embankment on the left, where a tadpole will approach you.

Speak to the tadpole, who tells Mario they dream of becoming a composer and want to be as famous as Toadofsky someday, before telling you the notes to the Frog Sage’s Suite No. 18, which are as follows:

  • So.
  • La.
  • Mi.
  • Re.
  • Do.
  • Re.
  • Do.
  • Re.

With the notes in hand, return to Toadofsky and look into the water, where you’ll see a musical score. Stand on the stone on the south end of the pond. You must hop onto the tadpoles in the correct musical note order listed above.

Each line of the musical score represents a different note and number from one to seven, as shown in my screenshot below:

Here’s which order to jump onto the tadpoles, listed by line:

  • 6.
  • 5.
  • 1.
  • 2.
  • 3.
  • 2.
  • 3.
  • 2.
