It's a plethora of plumper paraphernalia!

As a part of Super Mario’s upcoming milestone 35th anniversary, Nintendo is doing a Nintendo and releasing a highly-requested compilation of (most of) Mario’s 3D adventures for Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo part is its limited release window, which includes the digital version being delisted from the eShop at the end of March 2021. But until then you can easily lock a pre-order in for either the physical or digital editions. And like many games, certain retails are offering pre-order bonuses.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars Pre-Order Guide

As of this writing, there are three distinct pre-order bonuses on offer for Super Mario 3D All-Stars. The participating retailers are GameStop, Target, and Walmart. Much like the small release window for this title, the pre-order bonus offerings aren’t very substantial. Still, what you can get are pretty cute for what they are, and any kids involved will definitely be stoked.

If you pre-order from GameStop, you’ll get what this writer thinks is the coolest bonus on offer. Although, if you only have a Switch Lite, maybe not. It’s a Super Mario 3D All-Stars-themed Nintendo Switch skin set, which comes with decals for both the Joy-Cons, as well as a Joy-Con cradle if you still have one of those. The designs here are more minimal than usual, and feature classic-style Mario artwork for each game in the compilation. They look pretty slick!

Target is offering a set of magnets, featuring characters from each game in the set. It looks like the sheets add up to around 30 magnets in total, so if you’re a fridge decorator you’re in for a pretty good time.

Walmart is offering what look to be largely the same exact little pictures from each Super Mario adventure as Target is, but here they’re stickers instead of magnets. So if you’re more of a non-magnetic surface decorator, this is the option you want.

Regardless of which option you pick, it’s going to require a pre-order ahead of time. You only have a few days left, since Super Mario 3D All-Stars comes out on September 18, 2020. Even if you don’t want to pre-order, you’ll have until the end of March 2021 to decide if you want this set or not. After that it will ostensibly be removed from official purchase, meaning you’ll be at the mercy of the cutthroat world of secondhand shopping if you miss the cutoff date.

Do you like any of these pre-order bonuses on offer for Super Mario 3D All-Stars? Or do you think they’re not enough to accompany such a limited release? Let us know what you think, readers, over at the Prima Games Facebook and Twitter channels!
