Silent Hill 2 Remake is now out on PC and consoles for players who ordered the Deluxe Edition, which provides two days of early access. This is an Unreal Engine 5 title, and one of the most demanding ones we’ve seen so far, with the infamous traversal stutter present as well. If you want to back up your local progress on PC, here is the Silent Hill 2 Remake save file location.
Silent Hill 2 Remake Save File Location
The save files for Silent Hill 2 Remake are available in the following location on PC.
C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SilentHill2\Saved\SaveGames
The SaveGames folder contains all your local progress, and we recommend backing up the entire “Saved” folder, just in case. This will also include your configuration files, so you don’t have to re-do all the settings either. However, if you’re just interested in the save files, the “SaveGames” folder is enough.
Faster Navigation
To quickly navigate to the same location, you can use Windows Run. You can bring up Run by pressing the Windows and R keys together.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\SilentHill2\Saved\SaveGames\
Does Silent Hill 2 have Steam Cloud Support?
No, Silent Hill 2 does not currently have Steam Cloud support. This is likely due to the early access period, and we’ll update this if they add support for cloud saves when the standard edition launches on October 8, 2024.
If you were planning to play the title on multiple devices, for now, you’ll have to move around the save files manually. We’re certain that the developers will add support for this because it’s a basic and essential feature that saves a lot of trouble when picking up games on other devices.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is a visual feast, but it sadly has a lot of similar Unreal Engine 5 issues that we’ve come to expect. We hope that the developers continue working on it to improve stability, but for now, here is how you can get rid of the annoying chromatic aberration effect in Silent Hill 2 Remake.
