Which Version of Rise of the Ronin Should You Get?

If you’re a physical collector, there is only one version of Rise of the Ronin available to you — the Standard Edition. If you plan on picking this one up digitally, however, two different versions are available for players to purchase — the Standard Edition, alongside the Digital Deluxe Edition. The standard edition retails for $69.99, whereas the Digital Deluxe edition will retail for $79.99.

Is The Digital Deluxe Edition of Rise of the Ronin Worth It?

Alongside your copy of Rise of the Ronin, you’ll also receive the following in-game items that you can deck your unique Samurai out with;

  • Iga Ninja’s Staff
  • Toyokuni Paired Swords
  • Bando Warrior Armor set
  • Japanese Formal Wear set
  • Digital art book
  • Digital soundtrack

For an extra $10, that doesn’t seem like a bad bargain, especially if you’ve played and enjoyed Team Ninja’s previous games. You’ll know what you’re in for, but if you’re a first-time player, it may be more beneficial to yourself and your pocketbook if you just pick up the standard game.

It also appears that you may not be able to upgrade after the initial purchase, if the PlayStation store is correct. There are only two options available for this particular title, the Standard and the Digital Deluxe — there is no option to pay $10 to upgrade to this edition, so make sure that you select the right option when purchasing this game.

Is There A Collectors Edition Available for Rise of the Ronin?

If you’re hoping to show your love to Rise of the Ronin and Team Ninja, a collectors edition is always a great way to make that happen. Much like Wo-Long: Fallen Dynasty, however, there is no Collector’s Edition available for this particular game. While it would have been great to see a statue or even a physical version of the art book available for passionate fans, there is no way to get our hands on any of these particular items.
