This article lists the steps required to complete the main Easter egg step by step. Some of the steps will include links to additional guides that will go into more detail about each section. Make sure to visit these guides if you need in-depth help solving a particular step of the puzzle. You must complete the steps listed below in the order that we list them to solve the main Easter egg and beat Rave in the Redwoods.

Turn on the Power

To get things started you’re going to need to locate the power switch and activate it. This can be done using our guide on how to turn on the power, which offers easy to follow instructions for how to find the power switch.

Repair the Boat and Projector

Next you’ll need to build the boat propeller and find the film reels for the projector that is on Turtle Island. Repairing the boat will allow you to access the island, which holds even more areas for the players to explore. You can follow our in-depth guide on how to repair the boat propeller, as well as our complete walkthrough of how to find the Pack-a-Punch, which will show you how to find the Film Reels.

Speak to Kevin Smith

With the projector fixed, use the radio in the projector room and talk to Kevin Smith. This will start the first official step of the main Easter egg hunt.

Collect Photos and Complete Rituals

After speaking to Kevin, you’re going to need to work on some additional items. If you open up your inventory you’ll notice that the fourth photo is comprised of several smaller pieces, each with a different scratched out image on it. You’ll need to collect these pieces and complete the rituals associated with each one to finalize the photo.

The first photo is found in the upper level of the Recreation Area, where the rave takes place. Look for it on the floor.

The second photograph can be found on the balcony outside of the room with the Tuff Enuff machine inside. This room is found upstairs from the main cabin spawn.

The final photo is found in the generator room where the power switch is. It’s on the floor beside the wheel with the zombie on it.

With all three photos in tow, it’s time to complete the rituals for each one.

The first ritual site can be found at the Adventure Course, the area with the yellow tents near a bonfire. You need to complete arm shots and kill Crawlers here.

To complete the second ritual, head to the Recreation Area, and get explosive kills in front of the Quickies perk machine.

The third ritual requires you to get headshots in front of the Bang Bang machine at Bear Lake.

When you arrive at one of the ritual locations, interact with the area that it says “hold to place item” and an unlimited Rave Mode will begin, spawning a ton of zombies, and eventually the Slasher. Complete the goals above and kill the Slasher to complete each ritual. Pick up the items that he drops at the end, and the photo in your inventory will now be cleaned up. Now head back to the projector room and talk to Kevin in between each ritual. Rinse and repeat until all three pieces are completely clean.

Press Red Buttons

The next step requires you to make your way down to the generator room where you turn on the power. Here you will find a series of red buttons with white lights above them. Players must interact with these buttons and activate them simultaneously.

Fight The Boss

After completing the rituals and activating the red buttons, players can travel across the lake with Kevin in the boat. Along the way he’ll fall out and a massive boss will spawn. You’ll need to fight the boss through quite a few different steps.

Fill the Soul Orbs

Players will then find themselves teleported into a strange area where several blue Soul Orbs have spawned. Kill zombies close to the orbs to collect their souls. Continue this process until every Soul Orb is completely filled and a light shines down on them from above.

Kill the Boss

After you fill the Soul Orbs, it’s time to finally take down the boss. During this phase of the fight players must tempt the boss into a series of clue circular totems. This will tether the boss to the ground, trapping it and allowing players to inflict large amounts of damage on the boss all at once. Aim at the bosses weak spot, a blue hit area, to inflict the most damage. After doing enough damage, Rave Mode will deactivate and players will need to fight the boss in the normal world.

At this point various hit areas will be marked on the boss by runes or symbols. Shoot these areas to inflict damage on the boss. Continue this until the next phase of the fight is triggered. From here several green circles will activate and players will need to keep skeletons out of the circles while also staying within their confines. Do this for a few moments until the phases begin to repeat. Players will need to repeat the processes listed above several times until the boss dies and drops the Soul Key piece.

Watch the Final Cutscene

With the boss defeated, pick up the Soul Key piece to trigger the final cutscene. This will also complete the Locksmith trophy/achievement, and unlock Kevin Smith as a playable character.

How to Play as Kevin Smith

To play as Kevin Smith, players simply need to enter the following code in at the zombies main menu to play through the next match as the comedy star.

RIGHT, LEFT, LEFT, DOWN, DOWN, RIGHT.
