As you make your way through Prey, you’re forced to take a detour and make use of the station’s G.U.T.S system, which is basically a maintenance tunnel that leads from the Talos 1 Lobby to the Arboretum. While traversing this area you’ll come across a locked Maintenance tunnel, which you’ll need to find the code for if you wish to continue. In this article we’ll give you in-depth information to help you locate the body of Kimberly Bomo in Prey, who has the code on her person.
It should be noted, this area is very dangerous, so make sure you bring plenty of ammunition along.
How to Find the Maintenance Tunnel Code
We’ve already shown you how to find all the keycodes for every safe and door in Prey, but it has come to our attention that this specific code has been causing trouble for quite a few players. That’s why we’ve put together this in-depth guide to help you find Kimberly Bomo’s body, and obtain the code.
First, make your way through G.U.T.S until you reach the locked door to the Maintenance tunnel. Once here, turn around one hundred and eighty degrees until you’re looking back in the direction that you came. Take note of the massive white pipe that runs along the middle of the room.
Now, if you’ve already take out the Cystoid Nests in the area, then you shouldn’t have much to worry about. If you haven’t taken care of these explosive Typhon creatures, though, you’ll need to do so. Use your GLOO Cannon to break open the nests, and then attack the groups of Cystoids with the cannon as well. Destroying one should technically knock the others out in the explosion.
Once the tunnel is clear of any Cystoids, follow the white pipe in the center until you notice a blue area that seems out of place. Fly under this area, and you should easily spot a corpse floating a little way off in zero-g. Approach the corpse to learn that it is Kimberly Bomo’s corpse, and then loot it to find a note with the four digits that you need to open up the door to the Maintenance tunnel. Unfortunately, this code is randomly generated each playthrough, so you won’t be able to simply enter in a stock code and continue.
With the door to the Maintenance tunnel opened, you are now free to continue your journey through G.U.T.S. Be sure to head back over to our Prey game hub for more helpful guides like how to find Josh Dalton and get the Q-Beam, as well as a complete guide on how to find the golden gun in Prey.
