Pokemon Indigo Disk: How to Get Terrakion in Scarlet & Violet

Terrakion is quite the hard Pokemon to pin down, even with the best hints! But, fortunately, the Cavern Pokemon isn’t impossible to find. Here’s what you need to do.

For Terrakion to spawn in your world, you must complete the Indigo Disk campaign and unlock Snacksworth. Snacksworth will give you Legendary Treats for each of the new Legendary Pokemon in Paldea, based on how many BBQs you’ve completed.

To unlock Terrakion, I needed to complete 80 BBQs.

Snacksworth will also give you hints on the Legendary Pokemon location. For Terrakion, the hint was that he was rock-climbing and took a rest with Mount Cortondo very distantly in the south.

That’s not particularly helpful, as there are a lot of high plateaus where you can see Mount Cortondo from the south. But that’s where this guide comes in. Head to the West Province (Area One) Watchtower waypoint, or the Pokemon League waypoint.

Make your way to the edge of The Great Crater of Paldea ridge. The mountain we want is almost flush with ‘The Great Crater of Paldea’ label on the map, just to the left.

On this plateau, you can find Terrakion looking towards Mount Cortondo, just as he did with Snacksworth. Approach him to start the fight.

How to Beat Terrakion in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

When you find Terrakion, it will be level 70, and it will have no shortage of resistances and weaknesses. This is because of its dual Rock and Fight-Typing.

Steel, Fairy, Water, Grass, Fighting, Ground, and Psychic attacks will all be super-effective.

Tip:

It’s highly recommended that you do not use Dark attacks. Doing so will trigger Terrakion’s ability and raise its attack.

Terrakion has the following attacks:

  • Stone Edge
  • Close Combat
  • Swords Dance
  • Sacred Sword

Terrakion hits hard. Like a truck going 90 miles through a warehouse full of marshmallows. And this is in large part because Terrakion will constantly increase its attack. Metagross isn’t a bad bet here, or a Ghost-Type Pokemon, to help you endure Terrakion’s wave of attacks.
