Pokemon Indigo Disk: How to Get Kyogre in Scarlet & Violet

Somewhere in the waters of Paldea, Kyogre swims in the deep. But the only way to make it appear is to have a Kyogre Snack. And to get that, you’ll need to complete the Indigo Disk storyline and speak to Snacksworth, who will appear at the Blueberry Academy entrance.

Snacksworth will give you Legendary Snacks based on how many BBQ’s you’ve completed. I needed to complete 70 BBQs for Snacksworth to give me the Kyogre Snack.

Once Snacksworth gives you a Legendary Snack, he’ll also give you a hint on how to find that Legendary Pokemon. For Kyogre, our hint was that he was near some odd rocks in the sea. These odd rocks are famous for bringing riches.

If you’re stumped, no worries! Here’s the precise location.

Head to the Casseroya Lake Islet waypoint in Paldea. This is the waypoint dead center of Casseroya Lake. Then, go northwest, until you hit the sea. You’ll find a smattering of rocks, including three uniform stone pillars.

These are the odd rocks Snacksworth was talking about! Draw closer to these stone pillars and Kyogre will appear in front of them.

How to Beat Kyogre in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Indigo Disk

It’s like playing Pokemon Sapphire all over again. When you encounter Kyogre, you’ll find that it’s a pure Water-Type and it will be level 70. Thus, Electric and Grass moves are the only attacks that are super effective against it.

Kyogre’s moves are as following:

  • Sheer Cold
  • Ice Beam
  • Aqua Ring
  • Muddy Water

Any Pokemon that can withstand Ice and Water moves is ideal, like another Water or Ice Pokemon. But you may find, since Kyogre is so much weaker than many of the Pokemon you encounter in the Indigo Disk, that the real issue is keeping it alive.

For that reason, I recommend Fire, Water, or Steel moves to whittle Kyogre down to the last sliver of its health. Unfortunately, it can also heal, so you may need to keep up the barrage with moves that have a decent amount of PP, until Kyogre succumbs to your storm of Ultra Balls.
