More and more Legendary Pokemon are becoming raid bosses in Pokemon Go. The most recent addition is Zapdos. This article covers Zapdos weakness in Pokemon Go, so you can come up with a team of Pokemon to take down the raid boss. Don’t worry, due to Zapdos coming after Moltres, you probably already have a few good Pokemon to use against the Legendary Pokemon. However, even if you don’t, we’ll cover some of Zapdos strengths so you know which Pokemon you should not be using against the raid boss.
Once you’ve caught Zapdos, be sure to check out what attacks to use with the Legendary Pokemon. You won’t be able to defend any gyms with Zapdos, but you’ll still be attacking gyms, so it’s good to know which attacks you should be using. As always, stay tuned to Prima Games for more information on Legendary Pokemon as they’re added to Pokemon Go raids.
Zapdos Weakness and Strengths
Zapdos is an Electric and Flying type Pokemon with a raid boss CP of 42,961 and a Max Capture CP of 1,902. It is weak to both Ice and Rock, which means those Golem Pokemon you were using against Moltres will definitely come in handy against Zapdos as well. In fact, the Tyranitar you might’ve been using against Moltres will also work quite well against Zapdos. Focus on Rock Throw and Stone Edge with Golem, and Stone Edge and Bite for Tyranitar.
In addition to the Rock type weakness, you can exploit the Ice weakness with Jinx and Piloswine. Use Front Breath and Avalanche for Jinx, and Ice Shard coupled with Avalanche for Piloswine. Dragonite with Dragon Breath and Outrage, or Rhydon with Rock Smash and Stone Edge also work very well against Zapdos, so you have quite a few options to choose from. Let’s take a closer look at Zapdos’ weakness and strengths.
Weak Against | Damage Factor |
Ice | 1.40x |
Rock | 1.40x |
Strong Against | Damage Factor |
Bug | 0.71x |
Fighting | 0.71x |
Flying | 0.71x |
Grass | 0.71x |
Ground | 0.71x |
Steel | 0.71x |
