There’s plenty of heavy-hitters when it comes to raids in Pokemon GO, whether it’s souped-up versions of Pokemon that show up on Community Day or some truly formidable Legendaries. Hell, we’ve even got to content with Armored Mewtwo and if that’s not truly terrifying, then we don’t know what is. Whoever said that Pokemon GO was for casuals definitely hasn’t played it recently. In any regard, if one particular Steel-Dragon Legendary is being a pain in the butt for you then our Pokemon GO Dialga weakness guide might well be the cure to your frustration.

Pokemon GO Dialga Weakness Guide

Those who aren’t familiar with Dialga can have a little crash course here, as a treat. Dialga is the Steel-Dragon Legendary from Pokemon Diamond, which means that it’s actually particularly weak to Fighting and Ground Type Pokemon. Luckily, those aren’t exactly rare Types to come across, and we have found that whatever worked on the likes of Regigigas will likely work here as well. Dialga in Pokemon GO is going to get an edge in Windy and Snow conditions, but don’t let that discourage you. We’ve posted a list below of the relevant counters that can exploit the glaring Pokemon GO Dialga weakness of those two particular types, and also listed the moves that you want your squad to have:

  • Machamp – Counter, Dynamic Punch
  • Breloom – Counter, Dynamic Punch
  • Hariyama – Counter, Dynamic Punch
  • Lucario – Counter, Close Combat
  • Groudon – Mud Shot, Earthquake
  • Rhyperior – Mud-Slap, Earthquake

The recent February Community Day should have made it pretty easy for you to actually acquire a Rhyperior, and the rest discounting Groudon and Lucario aren’t all that uncommon when it comes to Pokemon GO. We reckon that Machamp and Groudon are the superior choices here, and that you absolutely can’t go wrong with a Breloom either so just make sure that you have a handful of the above slated on your team and ready to go if you really want to take down Dialga with ease.

So now that you’ve got our Pokemon GO Dialga weakness guide, tackling this big lad when it swoops down on its spiky little trunks for legs should be a hell of a lot easier.
