So, if you’ve logged into Overwatch 2 recently, you’ll notice that our ice queen Mei is no longer available on the hero select screen. Well, that’s because Blizzard has put her in cryo sleep thanks to new glitches players have been abusing in matches. Her ice wall ability, customarily reserved for walling off your own team as a sign of rebellion, was being used to reach unintended locations on the map.

This information comes from the latest tweet from the Blizzard customer support Twitter account. You can read the full statement below.

“We are temporarily disabling Mei to address a bug with her Ice Wall ability that allows heroes to reach unintended locations. We are working to address these issues as quickly as possible and aim to bring Mei back in our next upcoming patch which is set for November 15.”

So yes, Mei will not return until November 15, 2022. This is roughly two weeks from the time of writing this. So if you’re a Mei main, it’s time to learn literally any other character and stop being an absolute menace to your teammates.
