Octopath Traveler 2: How to Get Almighty Soulstones

How do they hold the stones if they don't have hands?

Soulstones aren’t quite as good as most of the spells and abilities your travelers have. But if you do use one in a fight, then you have to opt for the Almighty Soulstone, the rarest and most powerful of these rocks. Or maybe you just want one (or five) of these rocks for the Scholar license. Either way, here’s how to get Almighty Soulstones in Octopath Traveler 2.

Octopath Traveler 2: How to Get Almighty Soulstones

Almighty Soulstones are hard to come by, but they’re capable of dealing highly powerful non-elemental damage to all foes, and reducing their Shield Points regardless of their weaknesses. But finding them can be exceedingly difficult if you don’t know where to look.

Fortunately, there’s one place you can find them consistently with a little bit of patience. But expect to leave a lot of dead squirrels and bears in your wake.

Head to the very top of Western Winterbloom Snows, just outside of the Scholar’s Guild, with a thief. Turn the time to night and equip the Hunter Support Skill More Rare Monsters.

With this setup, wander around the area until you encounter an Elemental, a gorgeous monster that’s essentially an amorphous blob of pure energy. These Elemental, which can be Light or Ice, both carry Almighty Soulstones. And while it’s possible they’ll drop them upon defeat, it’s much better to Steal them.

They have 1,800 HP, so be sure not to kill them. While these soulstones are necessary for the Scholar’s License and the quest Research Materials, Part II, it’s also a great item to have against bosses or, even better, when you have to win a Provoke fight.
