If you’ve been pushing through Monster Hunter World: Iceborne then you’re going to have to face down the monster of your fears — Shara Ishvalda. Shara Ishvalda is probably one of the most fearsome Elder Dragons ever encountered, and their seismic abilities are incredibly terrifying. However, don’t get your knickers in a twist. Our Monster Hunter World Iceborne Shara Ishvalda guide will make sure that you have the tips you need to topple this foe.
Monster Hunter World Iceborne Shara Ishvalda Guide: How to Defeat Shara Ishvalda
The Shara Ishvalda is the target of the quest Paean of Guidance in Iceborne, and they’re definitely no joke. It doesn’t have a particular element associated with its skills, but you’re going to want to make sure that you pack Blastblight, Ice, and Water weapons to make the most of its elemental weaknesses. Like a lot of its kind, it’ll be hard to put to sleep so we would forgo that strategy entirely.
This Elder Dragon is tough, and it’s going to put your mastery of the extra mobility strategies prized in Iceborne to the test. Our recommendation would be to get good at using the Clutch Claw if you haven’t already, because a surefire damage strategy is to latch on and steer it into rocks. Shara Ishvalda has a whole lot of armor that you need to chip away at as well before you can get to the meat of the matter, so we would make sure that you stay on your toes and focus on excising the monster’s pesky protections.
Our tips and tricks for taking down Shara Ishvalda are as follows:
- Make sure that you’re mantled up — we’d recommend a Vitality Mantle since it hits hard
- Watch out for the frequent stuns and for the ground to turn against you
- Focus on its legs, heads and chest when it’s not rampaging around
- To take care of the armor, make sure you have bombs on hand
- Watch out for its wingtip attacks
- Bring Blastblight, Ice, and Water weapons
Mind where you step and hit the focus areas that we’ve mentioned in our Monster Hunter World Shara Ishvalda guide. As long as you’re properly equipped, and keep persevering, you’ll be able to down this monster with enough experience. Need to double back on some other enemies that you’ve faced in the expansion?
