What are the Minecraft Dungeons DLC Release Date Plans?

Microsoft has announced plans to release the first Minecraft Dungeons DLC in July. The first DLC will be called Jungle Awakens, followed by a second DLC, Creeping Winter, which will be released later this year.

Prior to these DLCs being officially confirmed, a Reddit leak shared a handful of in-game screenshots that appeared to show the unannounced DLCs. Of course, leaks should always be taken with a grain of salt, but in this case, they turned out to be true.

While Minecraft Dungeons is available for free on Game Pass, it’s unclear if the DLC will be free or a paid add-on. At the time of writing, the standard edition is the only edition available on Game Pass, so it seems it will be an add-on.

Since Microsoft has released the Hero Edition and Hero Pass, which includes both the DLCs and a pet chicken, it seems unlikely that Game Pass subscribers will get the DLC for free. However, the good news is that the Hero Pass can be purchased for $10, which is a pretty good deal for two rounds of DLC.

Minecraft Dungeons is a lot different from the original game, as it has a big focus on exploring dungeons and gathering items, instead of crafting and building. As players make their way through all ten levels, and five secret levels, they can team up with three other friends for a local or online co-op adventure.

As the game randomly generates dungeons, the playtime will vary from player to player. For those who want to collect all the achievements and explore the different areas, it’ll take longer. But for those who want to buzz through the story, the game can be beaten rather quickly. It really comes down to your playstyle of choice, and either is okay!
