Metaphor: ReFantazio is the latest JRPG from ATLUS and Studio Zero that is now available on PC and consoles. The prologue of the game was available to try out in the form of a demo and is still available after the full release. Metaphor ReFantazio also has support for Steam Cloud, but if you want to access your local data and back it up, here is the Metaphor ReFantazio save file location.
Metaphor ReFantazio Save File Location
The save files for Metaphor ReFantazio are available in the following location on PC.
C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Sega\METAPHOR\Steam\[STEAM ID]
All your saved data is present in the unique Steam ID folder, but players can simply back up the “METAPHOR” folder for future use.
Faster Navigation
To quickly navigate to the same location, you can use Windows Run. You can bring up Run by pressing the Windows and R keys together.
%USERPROFILE%/AppData/Roaming/SEGA/METAPHOR/
This will take you to the same location, and you can back up the Metaphor folder.
Metaphor ReFantazio Demo Save File Location
Similarly, if you have been playing the prologue demo for the game, the particular save file for that is in the same STEAM ID folder, but with the save_demo.sav extension instead.
Does Metaphor ReFantazio have Steam Cloud Support?
Yes, Metaphor ReFantazio has Steam Cloud support, which allows players to pick up their progress on different devices with Steam installed. We highly recommend leaving this setting on as the save files and configuration data aren’t that big to begin with.
Metaphor ReFantazio also has support for Steam Family, which means players can share the game with members within their household. Players can expect to play Metaphor ReFantazio on the Steam Deck with a 30 FPS target. It’s not the most ideal experience, but it’s still playable.
Overall, we’re glad to see the Metaphor ReFantazio utilizing most of Steam’s features and relying on Steam Input for controllers to properly work as well.
