If you’re wanting to collect them all and to be the best that there ever was in Pokemon Sword and Shield, then you’re going to have to get clued in on evolving your team. We’ve already gone over how to use different elemental stones like the Fire Stone, but if you find yourself holding on to a Piloswine and wondering what to do with it, check out our Mamoswine Pokemon Sword and Shield evolution tips.
Mamoswine Pokemon Sword and Shield Evolution Tips
Let’s take it back to basics. You’ll get a Piloswine from a Swinub, and this evolution will happen at Level 33. You can alternatively also catch a Mamoswine from participating in Max Raids in the Stony Wilderness, which is the part of the Wild Area on the western border of Hulbury, just south of Giant’s Mirror. This Ice and Ground-type Pokemon has the Hidden Ability Thick Fat, which halves the damage of all Fire and Ice-Type moves that are used on this particular Pokemon.
If you’re not quite at that stage yet, you can actually evolve your Piloswine into a Mamoswine by fulfilling one simple criteria: having the Pokemon know the move Ancient Power. As long as your PIloswine knows Ancient Power, it’ll turn into a Mamoswine once it levels up. There’s no level threshold for this, so you can go totally nuts if your ‘mon knows the move from its early days. Mamoswine is a bit of a chonky boy, with a High Attack and High HP, making it an ideal frontliner so long as it can learn moves that can compensate for its Defense.
Now that you’ve got our Mamoswine Pokemon Sword and Shield evolution tips, it should be pretty easy to add one to your own team, whether it’s via Max Raid or by evolving a PIloswine.
