The main goal in Magikarp Jump is to train up the best possible Pokemon and then beat every League using your team of elite Magikarps. Sometimes, though, you’re going to fish up a Magikarp that just doesn’t meet the cut. If this is the case, and you don’t have the 10 Diamonds required to fish out another Magikarp, then there are a few ways you can go about getting rid of your Magikarp. In this article we’ll show you how to kill a Magikarp in Magikarp Jump, and fish out a new one without spending any Diamonds.
How to Get Rid of Your Magikarp
Before we go any further, we just want to point out that some of the ways you can go about getting rid of your Magikarp are sad. If you don’t have the Diamonds to fish out another one, then the only way to get rid of your current Magikarp—so you can get a new one—is to either level it up until it reaches Max, then beat any League matches you can…or kill it.
The easiest way to get rid of Magikarp is to have Pidgeotto carry it away. Yes, this is as murderous as it sounds, but if you don’t have the necessary Diamonds to fish out another one, then it’s your best bet to replacing it with a Magikarp that you can actually do something with. You can do this two ways. The first way is to trigger Event 4, where you have the option of having your Magikarp jump up and try to get a berry off a tree. Sounds harmless, right? Wrong. Sometimes, if you’re extremely unlucky (or lucky depending on how you look at it), the Magikarp will jump and a Pidgeotto will swoop in and carry it away.
The second way to have your Magikarp carried away is to head to your pond, have the fish Pokemon swim up to the top, and then tap on Magikarp so that it repeatedly jumps out of the water and into the air. After several taps, Pidgeotto will swoop by. He’ll ignore you the first time, but if you keep tapping, Pidgeotto will swoop in again, and carry your Magikarp off to Never Never Land.
Now, there are other ways that you can get rid of a useless Magikarp and move on to your next one. Or, if you need to do the act, but don’t want to look at it as murdering, then just imagine that the Pidgeotto and Magikarp are flying off to become best friends in a lake far, far away.
