If you’re any kind of collector—and chances you are if you’re playing a Pokemon game—then you’re probably already trying to figure out how to obtain all of the different patterns of Magikarp in Magikarp Jump. There are currently 7 different pattern types available, and in this article we’ll go over all the requirements needed to obtain all patterns in Magikarp Jump. Keep in mind, you will need specific Rods to pull some of these off, so you should definitely focus on trying to get these patterns using that Rod before you upgrade it.
How to Get All 7 Patterns
Before we get started, let’s go over a few ground rules concerning patterns in Magikarp Jump. Firstly, while there are 7 main types, some of these have different patterns, which you can collect as well. The higher end patterns—which usually grant better bonuses and individuality—are more rare, so you may have to try a few times to get them.

- Rod Required to Obtain: So-So
- Requirement: Beat the Quick League
- Number of Versions Pattern Offers: 3
Pink
- Rod Required to Obtain: Good
- Requirement: Beat the Great League
- Number of Versions Pattern Offers: 3
Gray
- Rod Required to Obtain: Great
- Pattern Available After: Beat the Luxury League
- Number of Versions Pattern Offers: 3
Purple
- Rod Required to Obtain: Great
- Requirement: Beat the Luxury League
- Number of Versions Pattern Offers: 3
Gold
- Rod Required to Obtain: Old
- Requirement: Start new game
- Number of Versions Pattern Offers: 1
That’s all of the patterns currently available in Magikarp Jump. As we stated above, you may need to fish multiple times to catch some of them, and since your Rod slowly upgrades as you progress through the game, patterns like Calico and Gold should be obtained before you progress too far into the game, as you may not be able to catch them later on with more powerful rods.
