Gears 5 has a wealth of side missions for players to enjoy, outside of whether or not they’re going to obsess over collecting every single in-game Easter egg. Take a break from some of the peering into dark corners to explore the beautifully-rendered world of the game! Act 2 in particular introduces quite the snowy clime, and if you’ve taken on the Lost Outsiders side mission then you’ll get to enjoy quite lot of it. Our Lost Outsiders locations Gears 5 guide will help you tick off every objective on the mission’s checklist.
Lost Outsiders Locations Gears 5 Guide: East Tower Substation
This quest will become available to you after you’ve picked up the New Hope story mission. You’ll have been unlucky (or unlucky) enough to happen across a diary called Lena’s Journal. If you bring to mind our guide on where to find all of the Act 2 collectibles, this is one item that you’ll be familiar with. Picking up Lena’s journal will unlock the Lost Outsiders side mission, and it’s going to make you visit two separate communications towers to complete it.
Those still unsure about the Lost Outsiders locations can follow our easy tips on finding the towers. We would recommend going to what’s called the East Tower Substation first. The name should be a dead giveaway as to the location: keep continuing due east until you hit the structure that you’re looking for. Inside it, you’ll find the eponymous owner of the Journal. Unfortunately, not much can be done for her at this stage, but you’ll find another item that you can pick up – the Security Memorandum. This is what you need to access the North Tower Substation to complete the quest.
Lost Outsiders Locations Gears 5 Guide: North Tower Substation
Once you have the ability to access the North Tower Substation, take yourself all the way back across the map and go north-west. Eventually, you’ll happen across a similar-looking building which is undoubtedly the North Tower Substation. You’ll have the access code that you need now, so just activate the keypad by the door and you’ll be able to find another souvenir from Lena before entering.
Unfortunately, this substation has enemies. You’re going to want to deal with whatever attacks you once you’ve pathed into the second room (we’ve kept it spoiler-free for you this time), and once you’ve taken care of that you can then crack the safe in the same room for an upgrade to Jack’s Shock Trap. That’s all you need to know with regards to the Lost Outsiders locations in Gears 5. If you need a hand with getting into Gears 5 multiplayer, then we have something to help with that too.
