Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is one of the best entries in the franchise for a reason. First, it introduces new elements to the series, in particular Link’s merging ability. Second, it relies on many Zelda staples that help make it familiar.

Case in point, Rupees. The precious crystals return as the game’s primary form of currency, and you’ll need a whole bunch to either rent or purchase weapons from Ravio, the game’s  weird merchant.

Turns out, a Rupee’s color designates its value. Here’s the breakdown: Green (1 Rupee), Blue (5 Rupees), Red (20 Rupees), Purple (50 Rupees), Silver (100 Rupees), Gold (300 Rupees).

How do you get more Rupees in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds?

Cut the grass: Doing this is the easiest way to find Rupees without putting Link in harm’s way.

Smash pots: Similar to grass. If you see a pot lying around, break it with your sword to find some loot.

Break boulders and skulls: You’ll see these items throughout your travels. Who knows? Perhaps they contain Rupees. Only one way to find out. Link smash!

Defeat enemies: Monsters tend to drop plenty of Rupees upon death. It’s a risky way to make some cash, but hey, Link has to do it.

Ram into trees: Once you acquire and equip the Pegasus Boots, run headfirst into a tree or statue to knock down precious items.

Open chests: Always search for these while exploring dungeons. The best part? Equipping the Compass automatically marks all the unopened chests on your map, making them a lot easier to find.

Swim in deep water: Granted, you need Zora’s Flippers to do this, but once you have them, go for a dip to find some Rupees.

Explore hidden caves: You’ll find all sorts of cool things, Rupees especially.
