Is Walking Wake a Legendary Pokémon?

In short, no, Walking Wake is not a Legendary Pokemon. Walking Wake is a Paradox Pokémon, and both it and the term itself were introduced in Generation 9. A Paradox Pokémon is either a Pokémon from a distant past or future, and from an alternate timeline, according to the Professors and researchers Sada and Turo.

Being a Paradox Pokémon does not mean that it cannot be a Legendary Pokémon. Both Koraidon and Miraidon are Paradox and Legendary Pokémon. So, if Walking Wake is clearly related to Legendary Pokemon Suicune, why isn’t it one itself?

The answer is that it simply isn’t categorized as one. Though there is no clear explanation (yet, at least), it might be due to the alternate timelines factor. Walking Wake might not be as special in its timeline as Suicune is to us today.

Paradox Pokémon is its own category of Pokémon. They go along with Legendary Pokémon, Mythical Pokémon, and the very few but equally relevant Ecologically Similar Pokémon, but are perhaps more similar to Ultra Beasts in the way that they come from an alternate dimension or timeline.

Walking Wake was announced on February 27, 2023, along with Iron Leaves. It was exclusive to the Scarlet version raids, but players with the Violet version could also join the raid if they found it, it was just much less likely. The opposite is true for Iron Leaves.

Unlike Suicune, who has a pure Water type, Walking Wake has a Water/Dragon typing combination. This leaves this Pokémon with only two weaknesses: Dragon and Fairy-type moves. Its stats are also high, so Walking Wake is a pretty strong Pokémon overall.
