Is the Whomping Willow in Hogwarts Legacy?
To give a quick summary of what the Whomping Willow is, it’s a large magical plant that, when approached by someone, immediately starts attacking whoever is nearby. While a witch or wizard could use particular charms to fight against it, it’s still a dangerous plant that can severely injure someone if they’re not careful.
As you explore the Wizarding World featured in Hogwarts, you’ll find all kinds of wildlife, forests, and other beautiful parts of nature. You’ll even find plants like Mandrakes, which you can grow and use in combat.
However, there are also many that you won’t find anywhere in the game, including the Whomping Willow. The Whomping Willow is not in Hogwarts Legacy.

This doesn’t just mean the plant doesn’t appear in the wild. If you head into the school’s greenhouse and herbology classroom, you’ll find all kinds of empty plant pots, large and small. Some have flowers, while others have cacti and other small plants. Despite this, nothing points toward the Whomping Willow being present anywhere on the school grounds, and you’ll never get attacked by any plants while in the greenhouse.
On the plus side, you can feel safe knowing you won’t randomly get attacked by a massive tree.
Hogwarts Legacy is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch through the official website.
