No easy way to survive

The prequel game for the two first Outlast games is finally out of its Early Access period, complete with more content than ever. The Outlast Trials is here, but can players enjoy it more easily through the Xbox Game Pass?

Is The Outlast Trials Available on Xbox Game Pass?

Unfortunately, The Outlast Trials isn’t included in the Game Pass. The Microsoft gaming service has included several Early Access games recently such as Palworld, but it wasn’t the same case for Red Barrels’s latest title. The game is indeed available for purchase in the Xbox store, but that’s about it, as you still have to pay its full price to experience it.

As of the Early Acces period, The Outlast Trials costs $39.99 in its regular version, with a $10 increase if you opt for getting the Deluxe edition, which includes the Reagent Starter Pack as an extra. Whether these additional items will be worth your extra money is completely up to you to decide.

There’s still a chance that the game could hit the Game Pass later down the line, but no specific announcements on that have been made, so I wouldn’t bet on it that much. If you don’t want to play it through Xbox, the game is also available through Steam, PS4, and PS5, so just pick your favorite platform and go with it.

The Outlast Trials gives some interesting extra pieces of lore for the most avid fans so they can better understand the events of the two previous titles, and it also dips its toes into the multiplayer environment. Solo campaigns are still a thing, but multiplayer has a bigger focus here. So team up with your friends to overcome these trials and survive those mysterious creatures chasing you in this frightening asylum. Not on Game Pass, though.
