Sons of the Forest is a real hardcore survival game. As soon as you launch it, you are greeted with a helicopter crash, your friend dying, and this weird robot guy who works for you. It’s quite overwhelming at first, but as you continue to progress, you begin to calm down and asses the situation. Continue reading to find out if Sons of the Forest is good or not!
Is Sons of the Forest a Good Game?
Sons of the Forest has been an extremely immersive game for me thus far. Keep in mind I am only 10 hours in, but the combat, graphics, and survival mechanics have created a very enjoyable experience for me.
I have not played the original game, The Forest, which likely gives me a different view on if Sons of the Forest is good or not. However, if you are new to the series like me, I would highly recommend you give it a shot!

If you are a fan of limitless building and farming, grotesque enemies, and a long list of weapons to master, Sons of the Forest is the game for you. It is much harder but consequentially much more rewarding than most games in this genre.
As a survival game enthusiast, my favorite aspect of the game is building a large base of operations. If that is not for you, the game is completely playable while being a nomad. You can quickly set up a small shelter to sleep for the night.
The companions are an amazing addition to the game, allowing you to avoid spending hours gathering resources. Simply tell Kelvin to gather logs and drop them in a specified area, and he will do the work for you!
All in all, Sons of the Forest has been an amazing experience so far, and I recommend everyone try it out for themselves.
