Is Palworld Crossplay or Cross-platform? – Answered

More pals to play with

Palworld has been out for a while now, and players have enjoyed getting their hands on some guns and some wild creatures, too. But with so many platforms to play a game nowadays, is there a crossplay feature in the game so no one gets left alone?

Is There Crossplay for Palworld?

As of the Early Access period, no cross-platform support is available for Palworld at release. While this feature is planned to be implemented at some point, according to their official Steam FAQ, it won’t be immediately available for players for a while, regardless of how much it would be useful.

This means that you can’t play with your friends on PC if you’re enjoying it on your Xbox. Steam players can only play with other Steam players, and even if you’re playing on PC through Game Pass, you won’t be able to join with your buddy who has bought the game on Steam.

But since save files are stored on the Cloud, cross-progression is available for Xbox players. So if you create a new world on PC through Game Pass, you can continue your progress in it later on your Xbox console. This is the closest we can have to crossplay for a while, and fortunately, it’s something that usually happens with most Xbox games.

When is Palworld Getting Steam Cross-platform Play?

Despite having released a new roadmap, no mentions of a possible release date for crossplay/cross-platform features have been made for Palworld. We currently don’t know when the game’s next update will be released as PocketPair hasn’t promised us any date just yet. We don’t know if that’s a priority either, and I would guess that they’ll initially focus on releasing more content instead of the feature.

Besides, the game is currently only available for PC, Xbox One, and Series X|S, so Crossplay now would be only Steam – Xbox. It might not be worth the trouble for now. While they have declared that they have no intentions of bringing it to PS5 for now, plans could change depending on the game’s success.

The definitely-not-Pokemon-with-guns game was released on Early Access on January 19, while also being immediately available through Xbox Game Pass. Despite that, the game has reached astonishing sales numbers in record time, selling over a million copies on Steam alone in eight hours.
