Looking to jump into some multiplayer mayhem with your friends in Monster Hunter: World? Let’s jump into the world and find out if you’ll be able to team up with your buddies regardless of the platform they’re playing on.
Can You Play Monster Hunter World Cross Platform?
If you’re looking to play online multiplayer with friends in Monster Hunter: World, you’ll need to ensure that you’re all playing on the same platform. Since support for this title has been sunset since 2021, there is no chance to look for a Cross Platform play patch to hit, even with its renewed popularity. You’ll all need to ensure that you’re playing on the same family of consoles.
However, there is cross-region play, so if you have friends who live across the globe, you can play with them without worry. There is also cross-generation play, so those who are still using an Xbox One console can play with those on Xbox Series consoles, for example. This makes things at least a little easier when trying to get a squad put together, and with some of the later game hunts, you’ll need all hands on deck if possible.
While it would be great to see a patch for this feature drop before the release of the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds, we may just need to practice before this current-generation sequel hits the market. We can only hope that Cross-Platform play comes with this new version, as the multiplayer aspects of Monster Hunter are what make it one of the most exciting franchises available on the market.
