If there’s one Pokemon that’s become something of a meme in Pokemon GO, it’s undoubtedly Kecleon. For whatever reason, this Color Swap Pokemon was the last to arrive from Hoenn, making fans wait over five years for it to finally be catchable.
Many trainers are now aware that you can finally catch this sneaky Pokemon blocking Pokestops, though it’s a fairly rare encounter. Some trainers might fight it quickly, but others in the community have lamented over the fact that they’ve spun over 100 Pokestops and still haven’t found this Pokemon.
Kecleon is so rare, in fact, it has trainers wondering if this week is their only chance to catch the elusive Normal-Type or will it be permanent? So, is Kecleon still available in Pokemon GO?
Is Kecleon Still Available in Pokemon GO? – Answered
I’m happy to inform you that Kecleon is here to stay permanently. While it’s unknown if the primary way to find it will be stumbling onto it by chance at Pokestops, you’ll have plenty of time to catch it. Currently, if there’s a Kecleon at a Pokestop, it will stay there for 2 hours. So, if your friend in your local area happens to see one, rush over before it runs away.

As for whether or not you can catch a shiny version, you can… but only in one place. You’ll need to attend the Pokemon GO Tour: Hoenn in Las Vegas. At this event, you’ll have a chance of encountering this sparkly Pokemon.
Here’s what you can expect once you finally add Kecleon to your collection.
It’s a Normal Type with a Max CP of 2047. Its moves are:
Fast Attacks:
- Sucker Punch
- Lick
Charged Attacks:
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam
- Aerial Ace
- Shadow Sneak
- Thunder
- Foul Play
Good luck catching that Kecleon, Trainer! You’re going to need it.
