Rocket League has come to Fortnite, but players will be racing each other each arcade-styled races instead of scoring goals with a giant ball. Some of the mechanics have translated from one sport to the other, such as using Turbo for a quick boost of speed.

How to Use Turbo in Fortnite Rocket Racing

Turbo can be used in any race in Fortnite Rocket Racing by pressing the Turbo button, which is normally the X button for Nintendo Switch, Triangle for PlayStation, and the Y button for Xbox. This will give your car a quick boost to overtake any other car or give enough speed to help clear a gap. The Turbo meter will empty when used and is located next to the speedometer to the left of the player’s car.

The meter is broken up into three segments, and pressing the Turbo button will use up one segment. Players can use all three charges at one time, but should be used somewhat sparingly. The Turbo meter fills up automatically during the race, but players can refill it faster by drifting. Players will be able use Turbo several times during a race.

After pressing the Turbo button, players can receive an additional boost by pressing the Turbo button again several times after just using it. The game will prompt you next to the meter to continually tap the button, and doing so successfully will give a little more oomph to the Turbo.

There is no penalty for missing the extra Turbo prompt. However, players should always be ready to hit it because racers should take any chance to go faster.
