How to Use the Fortune Teller in Fire Emblem Engage

I draw the fool... Yeah, makes sense.

One of the most fun aspects of the Fire Emblem series is the bonds you can build between your units. But Fire Emblem Engage has made that task a little more difficult than in past installments, forcing units to be precisely beside each other to get that coveted heart icon. Fortunately, there’s a way to see which units will receive bonus support points! And that’s by visiting the fortune teller. Here’s how to use the fortune teller in Fire Emblem Engage.

How to Use the Fortune Teller in Fire Emblem Engage

If you’ve ventured through the beautiful sands of Solm, you’ve likely encountered Seadall. Seadall is the first male dancer in the Fire Emblem series, but he offers many of the same benefits, making him one of the best support units in the game. But he also offers a unique ability: fortune telling. To obtain Seadall, you must speak to him in Chapter 15, then successfully escort him through the torturously long ruins.

If he (and you) survive, he’ll join your army and set up base at the Somniel. There, he’ll spend his days practicing his dance routine. But at night? He’ll open up his fortune-telling booth. Here’s how to use it.

Step 1:

Approach Seadall at night. If it’s not night, go to your bedroom and sleep in your bed until the time is night. If you can’t find Seadall, navigate to the Plaza, then head towards the pool. If you’re facing the pool, turn left. Seadall’s house is a short walk away.

Step 2:

Speak to Seadall and ask for your fortune to be read.

You’ll then be presented with a list of all your currently recruited units. Select the unit you want to increase supports relationships with.

Step 3:

Seadall will then read the fortune of that unit. The fortune will include two things: that unit’s worry and the person who they’re thinking about. The unit’s worry doesn’t have a bearing on anything, nor does the actual card that Seadall pulled.

What does matter is the person the unit was thinking of. That person and the unit you selected will have an increased support exp gain when next used in battle together. Meaning they’ll level up their support levels faster than they would normally.

For example, if my Louis and Merrin have never spoken, but Louis is thinking about Merrin, I should use those two together in the next battle. In doing so, their relationship has a much higher chance of unlocking Support Rank C.

You can visit Seadall for new fortunes between every story, mission, and skirmish. Happy divining!
