You won’t always have a tavern to rest at when your party needs to rest, and that’s where making a camp becomes important in Dragon’s Dogma 2. To ensure your party is at full strength, I’ll give you a quick rundown on how to use your camping supplies.
How to Make Camp in Dragon’s Dogma 2
You need to find a campfire in the open world and then use a Mundane Campsite Kit to set up the camp itself. When you find a campfire, you can approach the fire and interact to bring up a menu. From here your options are setting up a campsite for your party or customizing the skills of your character without having to settle down for the time being. In this case, you want to give your party some much-needed rest to help bring back health and stamina.
The most important part of this system is having a Campsite Kit in your inventory when you reach a campfire. If you or your Pawns don’t have a Campsite pack in your inventory when you reach the fire, then there is no way to get some rest or cook your food. Keep this in mind before you go exploring because you will need to tough it out in the wilderness until you can find a traveling merchant or you head back to a major settlement for more supplies.
Campsite packs themselves can get fairly heavy at 7kg per item. There are a few different Campsite Kits that you can find in Dragon’s Dogma 2 beyond the mundane version but the weight will always remain the same. The main difference between each Campsite Kit is how easily it can defend against enemies in the area. If a raid happens against a cheap kit, your party will be ripped from their slumber and you will need another camp. So make sure you have a strong one or you clear all the enemies in the immediate area.
Don’t forget that you can use these camps to pass the time in Dragon’s Dogma 2 as well.
