How to Unlock the Eviscerator in Warhammer 40K: Darktide

The chainsword's close brother can pack a punch.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide has many tools to help you defeat your foes. You have your basic swords and assault rifles, sure, but tell us about all the games you’ve heard of having chainswords and boltguns in the same place. We guarantee you won’t be able to. One weapon in this great arsenal is the Eviscerator, a powerful melee option. Here’s how to unlock the Eviscerator in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.

How to Get the Eviscerator in Darktide

The Eviscerator is unlocked at Level 11 for the Zealot class, first appearing in shops around that level. This means that, depending on your current level, you have a ton of grinding to do before you have a high enough level to get it. Once there, trust us when we say it will be worth it.

For the otherwise unaware, the Eviscerator acts as a two-handed version of the chainsword. While much less nimble and more poorly equipped for dealing with individual targets, what it gains is heavier attacks for potential cleaves and the same special attack to treat opponents like you’re playing Gears of War. They call it the Eviscerator for good reason, as the chainsaw attached to the gun likely proved already alongside the already nice light, and heavy swings.

That’s not to say chainsword is a bad weapon, either. Either of these have their use cases and should be brought along depending on what damage your team needs. The Eviscerator just offers an alternative in case you want to bring along a beefier ranged weapon for dealing with specials. Regardless, it’s the final weapon you unlock with the Zealot class, so you’ll now be able to focus on getting a great arsenal of each weapon type. That and the three trinkets once you’re finally at level 24.
