How to Unlock the Chef in Risk of Rain 2 Seekers of the Storm

Chef is one of the new survivors in Risk of Rain 2 as part of the Seekers of the Storm expansion and was previously available in the original Risk or Rain. He’s one of the most unique additions to the rogue-lite and has some delicious skills to complement his playstyle. He isn’t available from the get-go, however, so here is how you can unlock the Chef in Risk of Rain 2 Seekers of the Storm.

Unlock Chef in Risk of Rain 2 Seekers of the Storm

To unlock the Chef in Risk of Rain 2 Seekers of the Storm, you need to insert three ingredients in a wok next to him in the new Reformed Altar stage.

Here are the detailed steps to unlock him.

• First, ensure the expansion is enabled in the character select menu, and start the first stage as usual.
• You need the following items to unlock the Chef in Risk of Rain 2 Seekers of the Storm.
  • Bison Steak
  • Cautious Slug
  • Infusion

• Do your best to find them in the first and second stages, but don’t worry if you can’t get them in a single run, as once you insert those items later, your progression won’t reset.
• Instead of going through the teleporter in the first stage, look for a new shrine called the Halcyon Shrine. It’s a shrine with green crystals protruding from the ground and can seemingly be found on any stage, but will definitely be present in the first stage.

• Pray to it, and the Shrine will start charging up using your gold. It will also summon a few enemies around it, so be prepared to fight.
• After consuming around 200 or so gold, it will summon a boss. It’s not a tough fight, but watch out for its spin attack, which can propel you into the air.

• After beating it, a green portal will show up in the Shrine’s location. Enter it, and you will be teleported to one of the new stages called the Reformed Altar.

• In the Reformed Altar, the Chef’s cave is always in the same location. It’s a bit left from the main structure.

• Enter the cave and insert the items required. You can come back here later if you don’t have all the items yet. Remember, you don’t need them all in the same run.

After you’re done, you will be able to select him as a playable character.
