How to Unlock Shrine Valley Chapter 2 in Legacy of the Moonspell Adventure in Vampire Survivors

Anime boss fight where you're supposed to run in order to come back stronger, or something, idk, never watched anime.

Right off the bat, you are thrown into an anime-like boss battle at the start of Legacy of the Moonspell Adventure in Vampire Survivors, and it indeed can be difficult to survive 1 minute in Castle Grounds, the first stage, but I have a solution for unlocking Chapter 2.

How to Survive 1 Minute in Castle Grounds in Legacy of the Moonspell Adventure in Vampire Survivors

As with every other Adventure in Vampire Survivors, you start with nothing but a short budget for initial purchases of PowerUp bonuses in the menu before you begin your run. The difference is that Legacy of the Moonspell Adventure gives you 10000 Gold to spend, so let’s look at what you should prioritize for this feat in your entire build. Let’s be real: you cannot defeat the boss in front of you on this stage, for the reasons I won’t spoil (unless you try really hard to grind Golden Eggs and then decide to spite me); we want to make sure you survive for one minute. Naturally, you will want to turn on the “Hurry Mode” so that you need to survive for thirty seconds in the ring.

PowerUp Build to Survive 1 Minute in Castle Grounds in Legacy of the Moonspell Adventure in Vampire Survivors

PowerUps that you should buy for this challenge are:

  • Move Speed – to outmaneuver the enemies
  • Max Health – to be able to take more damage
  • Armor – to be able to take more damage
  • Defang – to reduce the incoming damage

Please note that you can refund these purchases and buy a more optimal PowerUp setup once you clear the challenge. Adaptation is key!

Arcana Choice to Survive 1 Minute in Castle Grounds in Legacy of the Moonspell Adventure in Vampire Survivors

Hands down, Arcana IV – Awake is 100% the Arcana you should take. Three free revivals (plus the additional effects that bolster your survivability odds) should secure this goal.

If you do not have it yet (please get it), try Arcana VI – Sarabande of Healing or Arcana XV – Disco of Gold.

Best Level Up Choices to Survive 1 Minute in Castle Grounds in Legacy of the Moonspell Adventure in Vampire Survivors

Since our goal is not to fight but to… not die, here are the best level-up choices for you during the run (albeit you won’t have too many).

Best Weapon Choices

  • Laurel
  • Clock Lancet

Best Passive Item Choices

  • Tirajisu (revival, duh)
  • Wings
  • Hollow Heart
  • Armor
  • Pummarola (I find the health regen insignificant for the one-minute window we are aiming for, but hey)
  • Growth (we are playing the margin game and looking to “steal” one more level up)

Strategy to Survive 1 Minute in Castle Grounds in Legacy of the Moonspell Adventure in Vampire Survivors

Decisive Battle Begin!

Miang vs Orochimario!

Can our Shounen heroine muster the mettle to battle the diabolical dragon for more than a minute?

Orochimario comes from the eastern side of the map. I suggest you “kite” the boss, meaning that you should stay far away from it but never let it leave your screen because if you do, it may reappear in front of you. Just run in circles, but never near the fence or the center. Give yourself some maneuver space.

Orochimario “telegraphs” its attacks, and you will have time to dodge the biting attacks coming your way (especially if you maintain your distance). After the one-minute mark passes, you can leave the run; there is no point in staying in.

Now that this tough challenge is behind us, feel free to read up about how to unlock Forbidden Peaks in this lovely adventure.
